How long have you been involved with photography?
I have been involved with photography as a profession for over 5 years. We all know that it doesn’t start out like that, which is why I am blessed to say it is a part of my career. Overall I have been taking photos for just under 10 years. Time fly’s when you do something you love to do.
How did you first discover your passion for photography?
A long time ago my father took me out to take some pictures for a school project. I wasn’t into it as a child, but it did shape who I would become later in life when I picked up a camera again. It wasn’t until the local car club I was affiliated with started attending car shows and local events where I really started to enjoy it. This is also how I made my jump into Automotive Photography. My photography was well received by my peers who told me I should keep doing it, so with a few saved paychecks, I finally saved up enough to buy my first D-SLR camera, a Fuji S1 Pro, used, for an astounding $900. Did I mention it was used too?
How do you choose your subject matter?
Although I do shoot every subject matter, my specialty is Automotive Photography. I’ve have focused solely on this for the past 5 years and I have shown a large improvement in the genre. I mainly shoot modified vehicles for editorial publications, but I have done light commercial work.
What is your dream photo assignment?
This is a fairly loaded question, but I know the answer fairly simple. My dream job would be an on location shoot of the world’s most exotic car. I don’t have a car in specific, but the location should be somewhere exotic, such as Monte Carlo or another high class European city. Immersing myself in the scene with my family, friends and assistants would be an ideal assignment.
How does Camera Armor help you in your work?
Some might not believe it, but there is a lot of bump and grind when it comes to Automotive Photography, whether we’re using a car mounted rig to capture motion shots, hanging out of a speeding car on the highway or working that impossible angle. The armor has helped me protect my gear from what would certainly be the death of my camera. I stand by Camera Armor’s products, because I know they work.
