Who should use Camera Armor™?
Anyone that wants to protect their investment in their digital SLR. Camera Armor™ provides fulltime protection for your camera.
What parts are included in the Camera Armor™ package?
In every basic Camera Armor™ package there are 4 items:
- Body Armor™ - the main shock and scratch protection for your camera body
- Lens Armor™ - the lens hood and impact bumper for your lenses, this fits lenses in the 50-85mm range.
- The LCD Shield™ - this is a crystal clear polycarbonate shield that covers the LCD of the camera and ensures that the most fragile area of your digital SLR can take some serious abuse. We provide the shield for all camera models and our Camera Armor™ will work with existing LCD protection if you have it on your camera.
- Lens Cap Leash - I don’t know how many lens caps we have misplaced but this handy little leash attaches directly to your lens cap with a self adhesive patch and to a convenient loop on the Lens Armor™, you won’t lose anymore after this.
Does the Camera Armor™ protect the LCD?
Absolutely! Every Camera Armor™ model has a custom designed and crystal clear polycarbonate cover; this is the same material that is used in bullet proof glass.
Why do I need Camera Armor™ for my camera?
Your camera is most likely to be damaged when it is being used. Camera Armor™ is the only fulltime protection for your camera. We shield while you shoot. Camera Armor™ is always on your camera protecting from scratches, dirt and drops, while leaving you in full control of the creative process. All controls are accessible and you can take great pictures with the peace of mind that our protection brings.
What models of camera do you protect? Is it one size fits all?
Each patented Camera Armor™ is custom designed and engineered for a specific camera model. We spend weeks designing and working in CAD to ensure the best fit and performance for each camera model.
Is this a replacement for my current camera bag?
No, we recommend that you use a camera bag to store your camera and any accessories that you own. You should also use Camera Armor™ so when you are using the camera you have fulltime protection. Camera Bags are for storing your camera and Camera Armor™ is for protecting your camera in use. If you are looking for a camera bag we recommend these great Lowepro bags.
What lens sizes does the Lens Armor™ mount on to?
The Lens Armor™ is a patent pending solution for providing shock and scratch protection for your lenses. The fact that it doubles as a lens shade is great. The actual stretch of the Lens Armor™ is from 49mm to 84mm physical diameter (not the lens length) If you are in doubt measure the physical diameter of your lenses with a ruler. We are planning on releasing a larger version of the Lens Armor™ to mount to larger diameter lenses.
I love the Lens Armor™, can I purchase this separately?
Yes you can. This is a great thing to have on every lens that you have. Due to the overwhelming demand for this incredible little accessory we are now selling them separately here. We are also planning on releasing a larger version of the Lens Armor™ to mount to larger diameter lenses.
Can I use all the functions of my camera when I have the Camera Armor™ on?
Yes, we allow use of all controls and access to battery, memory cards and digital I/O. On the Canon 30D Camera Armor™ the only control that is difficult to reach is the diopter wheel next the viewfinder, which is rarely accessed.
What is a ToughStrap?
The ToughStrap is an ergonomic strap for wearing your camera for extended periods of time. The unique design element that sets us apart from all other straps is that each strap has stainless steel wires woven into the strap to prevent cutting or breakage.
What is the SafeGrip Hand Strap?
The SafeGrip Hand Strap locks the camera in your hand. Reflective trim is attractive and functional. Mesh backed strap helps keep your hands cool.
Will the Camera Armor™ still allow me to use my battery pack?
Since Camera Armor is designed to protect all parts of your digital camera body, it also wraps around the bottom of the body. As such, a battery pack attached to the bottom of the camera will have Camera Armor between it and the body. However, we also offer Battery Grip Armor to deal with this issue. Moreover, many users have reported that trimming the bottom of the Camera Armor housing allows the battery pack to attach. However, it should be noted that this will result in the bottom edges of your camera body being exposed when the battery pack is removed.
If you plan to attach a battery pack to the bottom of your camera body, we strongly recommend you also purchase Battery Grip Armor.
Will the L Bracket (i.e. Really Right Stuff, Custom Brackets) fit with the Camera Armor™ on my camera?
We don’t guarantee to fit every L bracket, but creative users have fit them over nearly all cameras. Perhaps the most successful ploy has been to switch out the mounting hardware with a slightly longer bolt.
The LCD shield that comes with the Camera Armor™ for my Canon Rebel XTi/400D covers the motion sensor, which causes irregular functioning.
Some of our XTi LCD shields completely covered this sensor. We have modified the shield to solve this problem and all new Camera Armor™ comes with the corrected LCD shield. If you are having trouble with this, email us at csinfo@daymen.us.com
